The Search Engine ( for Altec User's Board ) is Broken

No problem at all. It is information like this that let me know we need to go and update the counters manually as the automated process skipped something. Will get on this this afternoon and let you know once were done.

- Here are some example threads which are currently unfindable/searchable .
- They won't show when searching for them as threads started by their author ( they should ) , nor do they show/return using a the normal Keyword ( when it exists ) within the threads title ( again, they should ) .
- These are just the tip of the iceberg as mentioned in my first post .

PascaLite , thread starter is " Bill F777 " http://www.hostboard.com/forums/f700.../?daysprune=-1

Karlson cabs with 604s , thread starter is " A7fan " http://www.hostboard.com/forums/f700.../?daysprune=-1

model 3156 , thread starter is " pipe " http://www.hostboard.com/forums/f700.../?daysprune=-1

- IMHO, it's quite a bit more helpfull to state the specific search circumstances that you implemented, that only gave you 5 posts .

- For instance ; I just "retreived" 70 of your posts , after left-clicking on your forum name > & then selecting "View Forum Posts" .

- From what I've seen recently, repair to the search engine is a good 3/4 accomplished .

Clicking on that link yields "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. " for me.

I just killed the link since ( I guess, after my search "cookie" expired ) I got the same message when clicking on the link in my post .

FWIW, I still get 70 posts when using the search method in my post.

For you ( A_B_G ) , I too see 118 posts after a search .

Ditto Earl. I see 72 for Fran, 119 for you when searching. So that part is working well.

A_B_G, I see only about 200 of your posts. Going back to April of last year. So there is some indexing yet to be done. Same 200 post limit for me. Sept 2010
